A small studio with quiet standards.

Chhaya Digital makes software for the work that never makes the newsletter: the notes, the reminders, the captured thoughts that would otherwise slip away.

Why the name

Chhaya means shadow in Sanskrit. A shadow adds nothing of its own; it shows the shape of what is already there. That is what good software should do: stay out of the way and make the work underneath visible.

We are a small independent studio based in New Jersey. Messages go directly to the person building the product, and every policy is written to be understood before anyone buys.

About the studio

Independent. New Jersey, USA. Building software that behaves like a shadow: present, useful, never in the way.

How we work

Three commitments shape everything we ship.

Clear by default

Licenses, limits, and support terms written in plain language. If a policy needs a lawyer to parse it, we rewrite the policy.

Built to last

We plan for maintenance before release: understandable architecture, honest limits, and a product small enough to support well.

Small and specific

One problem at a time, solved properly. We would rather ship a tool that does one thing well than a platform that does everything poorly.

One project, maintained

We build one product at a time and keep the scope close enough to understand. Cuedora is still in development; the same person shaping it today will read the questions that arrive before launch.

Currently

Cuedora for macOS

A private-first capture app for Apple silicon Macs, currently in active development.

Questions about the studio?

We are glad to talk — about the software, licensing, or the work itself.
